While speaking about his indomitable confidence, Mr Bansal says, “After lot of exploration I realised that IT hardware offered a tremendous growth opportunity. Initially, however, I couldn’t think of manufacturing any product besides the Ethernet card, since the investment was low. The market was new to me and it was really difficult to gain a footing amid the established players.”
However, he was confident that the competitive pricing and superior quality of his products would help the company capture a significant share of the growing IT hardware market in India.
Smart business moves
In order to reduce the initial investment, Mr Bansal made a smart business move, outsourcing component production to manufacturers in Taiwan and China. He also went on to sign JVs with reputed overseas suppliers to launch top-quality products in India.
By entering into strategic tie-ups with leading brands like Intel, AMD and Seagate, he brought the latest in computer peripherals, mobile phones, PCs, notebooks, TFT-LCD monitors, DVD players, computer multimedia speakers, headphones and web cameras to the country.
Prioritising futuristic investment
Mr Bansal is an administrator who attaches prime importance to futuristic investment. Considering the company’s need to diversify in order to keep pace with ever-changing market preferences, he took the lead to upgrade his company’s operations from ERP to SAP.
