P&G to build largest Asia-Pacific manufacturing hub

Procter & Gamble is going to complete its biggest manufacturing base in the Asia-Pacific region in China’s northern city of Tianjin.

At present, the company has committed RMB198 million for the first phase of the project. When it is completed, the Xiqing project will have a total factory area of 500,000 square metres with the capacity to accommodate 13 production lines.



Another RMB50 million will be used for the second phase of the project. With an annual production capacity of 100 million cases, P&G plans to develop its investment project in Tianjin’s Xiqing into its largest manufacturing base in the Asia-Pacific region, and possibly the world. In terms of population, Tianjin is the sixth largest city in the country, with its manufacturing industry accounting for as much as 60 percent of its economy.
