The US-based construction equipment manufacturer, John Deere, has announced its plans to realign its tractor business in India. The company has set its eyes on the farming equipment market in India, for which a target has been set to launch at least two models by 2011. Discussing the company's strategy for the Indian farming equipment market, Ravi Menon, Director,Marketing and Sales, John Deere, says that earlier, thecompany brought tractors of 50 HP or more into the country. Now, realising that the Indian tractor market is more inclined towards the 31-40 HP range, John Deere has changed its strategy to tap the segment. |
