Cognizant has entered into a strategic global product research and development alliance with Invensys Operations Management (IOM). Cognizant is a leading technology, consulting and business process outsourcing services provider and Invensys is a global provider of technology systems, solutions and consulting services in the process and manufacturing space.  Cognizant has signed a five-year multi-million-dollar contract with IOM. This contract ensures the augmentation and maintenance of Invensys’ suite of products. Four hundred IOM professionals will join Cognizant as part of the alliance. This will help both companies to solidify their leadership positions in the manufacturing space and expand their range of capabilities in engineering services. This act will strengthen Cognizant’s presence in the manufacturing segment and further enhance its ability to provide end-toend services to customers. This will help Cognizant expand its base in the discrete manufacturing, process manufacturing, energy and utilities, pharmaceutical and consumer goods segments. Currently, the manufacturing technology market is at an inflection point as the companies move to seamlessly stitch plant floor applications to enterprise applications to act on real-time manufacturing information. |
