LiuGong India, a subsidiary of Guangxi Liu Gong Machinery Company (China), recently inaugurated its new manufacturing facility at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. The new unit will manufacture heavy earth-moving machines and construction equipment. The facility is located 38 km away from Indore and is on a 44-acre plot of land. Around Rs 175 crore has been invested in setting up the facility, and there are plans by the company to invest Rs 325 crore more.  The new facility will start by manufacturing wheel loaders and will gradually assemble/manufacture the full range of LiuGong products in India, which include crawled excavators, backhoe loaders, road equipment etc. Products will be exported to foreign markets such as South Asian countries and even the Middle East and Africa. LiuGong India has a 5-tonne wheel loader, which is one of the company’s leading products and occupies a significant market share in the segment. The company obtained land as per a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed two years ago with the Madhya Pradesh Government during a trade meet. |
